How To Make Butter Slime: A Helpful Guide
When it comes to slime, there are so many ways that one can create new ideas. From the basic slime we all know and love, to the rich texture of a puffy butter slime. Alongside that is the ease that comes with changing the texture in such a manner. One simply needs the time to create a basic base slime that comes when mixing any glue of preference with borax or other preferred activators like contact solution. Yet, the key difference of a butter slime is taking that base and adding in some soft clay that allows the texture to change completely! Adding clay not only gives it the desired butter feel, but also a puffy texture when kneading and playing with it. Alongside that, the more you play with it, the more it inflates!
So now that we all know the key differences between these iconic slimes, we can start to create them together!
Step 1. Gather The Slime Supplies
First, we can start with gathering all the needed supplies to make your butter slime!
• You are going to need some glue, (Dope Slimes recommends Elmer's Glue All).
• Next your going to need some borax that which will later be mixed with the recommended amount of water. You can use contact solution as well. After years of experimenting with both Dope Slimes prefers the overall quality that comes with borax.
• Last but most importantly, do not forget the clay! You can use any store-bought soft clay like Daiso or even our ever so legendary Dope Slimes soft inflating clay!

Step 2. Make The Butter Slime Base
Once you have all the desired supplies at hand you can start to mix your glue and borax solution together in a large bowl. To make the activator add 1 tablespoon of borax to 1 cup of warm water - mix till the borax is completely dissolved. Start with small amounts of borax solution and start mixing it into your glue until it begins to coagulate. Mix and mix the glue and borax solution until you get a hold-able non-sticky slime base. You will know you are there once the slime does not stick to your hands and begins to hold its shape. If you end up adding to much borax and you end up with a stiff lump of a mess, there are no worries! Simply add more glue to counter this and get back to mixing. Once you have the desired feel and consistency with your slime you can start to create the perfect butter slimes.
Step 3. Mix-in Your Slime Clay
Take some clay and simply add it in to feel. This is the magic of butter slimes, you can use as much or as little clay as you want, but usually one small package of clay does the trick (100 grams worth) Over here at Dope Slimes we prefer one part slime to one part clay. If you make a large batch of slime you are going to want more clay. But always remember half slime and half clay. Adding more clay not only takes away the slime feel but allows it to inflate with aeration and the smooth feel we all know and love. You can add small amounts and make it just how you prefer or even add a large amount, its really up to the user.
